Our purpose at Earth Greetings is to inspire feel-good giving, whilst contributing to a brighter future for wildlife and our planet.
Earth Greetings is a purpose driven business founded nearly 20 years ago with a vision to celebrate nature and give back generously. Treading lightly on the Earth is at the heart of our purpose. In everything we do, our aim is not only to do no harm, but contribute positively to people, animals and planet.
10% For The Planet
To achieve our purpose of contributing to a brighter future for wildlife and our planet, Earth Greetings donate at least 10% of profit to organisations helping to support native wildlife and habitat restoration.
Some of the organisations we supprt include: Adelaide Koala & Wildlife Hospital, Trees For Life, BirdLife Australia, Australian Wildlife Conservancy, Save The Bilby Fund, Animal Rescue Collective, WWF Australia, Nature Conservation Council of NSW, Bob Brown Foundation, Animals Australia, WIRES Wildllife Rescue and Friends of the Earth.
Over the 2022 Financial Year, we donated over $33,000 to charity with a focus on supporting organisations helping native animals over the difficult bushfire recovery period, including sponsoring the cost of an Animal Rescue Cooperative fire trailer, to help bring water to fire prone areas faster.
As habitat loss and climate change continues to have ongoing impacts on native wildlife, we are committed to allocating our 10% for the planet fund where it's most needed.
Our Partners in Purpose
Trees For Life: Earth Greetings have an ongoing partnership with Trees for Life. We donate the cost of growing a native tree seedling for every order placed. Since 2008 we have directly enabled Trees For Life to plant over 50,000 native tree seedlings. Every order grows a tree!
Adelaide Koala & Wildlife Centre: Earth Greetings donate 5% of all sales to Adelaide Koala & Wildlife Centre in September, during Save the Koala Month. Our donations help sick and injured koalas and other native animals receive treatment and care so that they can return to the wild.
Save The Bilby Fund: We donate $1 from every Bamboo Bilby sold at Easter to Save The Bilby Fund to assist their onging work to save these unique and precious creatures from extinction.
Carbon Neutral: We engage Carbon Neutral to conduct our annual emissions and waste audit, with the aim of achiving carbon neutral status for our business operations and products.
Every Order Grows A Tree
Every order grows a tree, through our partnership with Trees For Life.
Trees for Life is a non-profit organisation dedicated to revegetation and the protection of threatened and valuable bushland habitat in South Australia. Their volunteers are people from all walks of life who have been inspired to "take action for the land they love" through bush care and native tree planting to restore cleared land.
Trees For Life share our goal - to create a brighter future for wildlife and our planet. Every time you order from Earth Greetings, you will be contributing directly toward this brighter future, with a native tree seedling planted for every order placed.
We're Carbon Neutral
Our annual carbon audit is a key factor in our achieving our goal to tread lightly on the earth. We engage Carbon Neutral to measure our waste, recycling, water use, and energy and include greenhouse gas emissions used in creating all materials and products we produce.
To achieve carbon neutral status, we purchase offsets through our donation to the Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor, which is a biodeverse restoration project along the WA wheatbelt. This has the secondary benefit of directly contribute to restoring habitat for wildlife in once degraded land.
Our Earth Friendly Products
Our core product lines are made from paper. Paper-making has a history of causing habitat loss, climate change and water contamination. It's integral to our business model to only choose paper that treads lightly on the earth. See Paper, Printing & The Environment for more detail.
We choose 100% post-consumer waste for all of our paper products including greeting cards, wrapping paper and stationery. This means paper that has already been used by consumers and made into new paper. We ensure the paper we choose is not chlorine bleached, made by environmentally certified mills (EMS, ISO 14001 or EMAS) that recycle or capture waste before it enters the environment.
